Clusters of pink and white flowers carried densely along the branches, opening as the tree comes back into leaf. Softer in colour than Cassia fistula and often specified alongside it where a scheme wants two flowering seasons rather than one.

Landscape use

Boulevards, park groupings, resort grounds and residential streets. Like most flowering trees it reads best repeated, where the whole planting comes into colour together.

It rewards reliable irrigation with a fuller, longer display. On irrigated Gulf schemes it pairs beautifully with Cassia fistula, the two giving pink and gold in succession.
