Cassia fistula
Cassia fistula, commonly called the golden shower tree, is a medium-sized flowering tree native to the Indian subcontinent and nearby parts of Southeast Asia. It is celebrated for its long hanging clusters of bright yellow flowers, which often cover the tree in late spring or early summer. The species usually grows 10–20 meters tall and has pinnate deciduous leaves and long cylindrical pods containing many seeds. It is widely planted as an ornamental tree in tropical and subtropical regions because of its spectacular bloom. In addition to its decorative value, the plant has a long history of use in herbal traditions and is culturally important in countries such as Thailand and India.
