Temple and cultural grounds, parks, campuses and large open landscapes. A single mature specimen becomes a landmark and a gathering point, which is how the species has been used for centuries.

Give it open ground and a generous root run and it will develop the wide, high canopy the tree is valued for. Best sited well clear of structures and services, where it can reach full character.
